Beginning March 3
During Lent, we’ll be focused on Amy-Jill Levine’s book “Jesus for Everyone – Not Just Christians”. The historical and cultural influence of Jesus leads to a deeper understanding of faith, ethics, and the world in which we live.
In worship and small groups we’ll focus on one chapter a week. With the intention of meeting Jesus in his time and in ours, we’ll study economics, enslavement, ethnicity and race, health care, family values, and politics. Order a book, check the library, see if your local booksellers have it or can get it for you. Please read the chapter for the week before attending your small group.
Small groups will meet once a week and people can attend the one that works best for their schedule:
- Mondays. 11:00 am, Capitol Lakes
- Wednesdays, 6:30 pm, 2nd floor Chapel
- Thursdays, 2:00 pm, 2nd floor Cafe
Small Groups begin with the book Introduction and the introduction of the people in our groups, the week of March 3rd. Chapter 1 will be the week of March 10th and so on.
