Happy New Year from the Adopt-a-School team! Last year was quite eventful and this year looks like it will be equally gratifying.
Again, this year we are joining forces with Hawthorne and Bikes for Kids WI to supply bikes to students. For $42, a child will be given a bike, a helmet and a lock. If you are interested in being a sponsor, please let Kathy or Paula know by Feb. 15 so we can put in our order. Last year we donated 25 bikes!
Upcoming event: On March 2, FUMC will be bringing in dinner for the staff on Parent/Teacher conference night. The teachers work all day and stay in the evening for conferences. If you have an idea of something you’d like to offer, let us know. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated.
Needed donations:
- Food for the Food Pantry!! Canned food, rice, beans, etc.
- Snacks for the kids: Goldfish, shelf stable applesauce, meat sticks, peanut butter crackers, granola bars, dried fruit, etc.
- Laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, wet wipes
- Sweat pants, underwear, socks
