Adopt-a-School Update: May 2026

We were fortunate to have principal, Lucy Seiber, and Community Resources Coordinator, Antonio Cruz-Rodriguez, present at the Sharing our Journeys class last Sunday. They gave us so much more insight into the needs of our Adopt-a-School.

Upcoming events:

  • May 4-8 is Teacher Appreciation Week. FUMC is scheduled to honor the teachers on one day of that week. If you have any ideas or suggestions as to what we could do, please contact Kathy or Paula.

The new Husky Pack Leaders committee, a student council for 4th and 5th graders, is focusing on rebuilding the school garden to promote student and community involvement and grow fresh food. They need gardeners for planning, design, and teaching students gardening skills, and are also seeking benches and picnic tables. The area offers many possibilities, and students regularly help clean it up. Let’s join in!

Current donations needed are:

  • Snacks (Goldfish, Cheezits, fruit roll-ups, whole grain crackers and pretzels, Skinny Pop popcorn, Pirate’s Booty, granola bars, etc.)
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Socks
  • Toiletries—feminine products, toothpaste, shampoo, unscented soaps
  • Toddler diapers (pull ups)
  • Summer clothes (shirts, shorts—all sizes)
  • Food Pantry items:

laundry detergent, dryer sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, rice, beans

Thank you kindly for all the donations you regularly drop off in the bin at the church. Your caring and generosity are truly faith in action.
