Another busy year wrapped up at Hawthorne on June 10!
The summer has flown by and summer school has come to an end at Hawthorne. The Food Pantry continues to be a busy place, so please consider donating the following items:
- Snacks (Goldfish, Cheezits, fruit roll-ups, whole grain crackers and pretzels, Skinny Pop popcorn, Pirate’s Booty, granola bars, etc.)
- Toiletries—feminine products, toothpaste, shampoo, unscented soaps
- Pull up underwear for older students with disabilities—3rd-5th grade—Goodnites brand L-XXL (I found them at Target)
- Summer clothes (shirts, shorts—sizes 6Y-16Y, Youth XS to XL)
- laundry detergent, dryer sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, rice, beans, breakfast cereals
The Back to School event is Wednesday, August 26th from 5:00-7:00. There will be a community dinner, and all are invited to attend. Donation needs include:
- Backpacks
- Markers
- Any school supplies (check out the Hawthorne website for specifics)
- Alarm clocks (to help prevent barriers to getting to school)
- Volunteers are needed to help hand out supplies
Interest in rebuilding the Hawthorne gardens is gaining momentum as school starts. Monetary donations are needed to get the work underway. Please let us know if you are interested in supporting this project.
Many thanks for the continued donations throughout the summer and all year long.
More information coming soon.
