First Church Tables: Making Room for Connection

One thing we heard clearly in our recent congregational survey was a desire for more opportunities to form meaningful relationships—to build friendships, share life, and know one another more deeply. First Church Tables are one way we’re responding.

First Church Tables are small groups of 7–9 people from across our congregation who will gather about once a month during the school year. Groups might share a meal at someone’s home, gather at a restaurant, meet at church, or connect virtually. Each group will decide what works best for them.

The hope is simple: gather around a table and share life together. Over time, these gatherings can become places to tell stories, talk about what matters, share faith, pray, encourage one another, and discover the gifts each person brings to our community.

You don’t have to already know someone in the group. The invitation is simply to make some room in your life for new relationships.

What if cost is a barrier? We don’t want that to keep anyone from participating. If providing a meal or eating out would be a financial challenge, let us know on the sign-up form. Your response will be confidential, and we’ll make sure you have the support you need to participate.

We’ll form the groups and connect each Table. After that, groups will have the freedom to shape their own life together, with a staff member available for support.

Sign up using this form. Paper forms are also available in the Welcome Center. If two adults in your household would like to participate, please fill out the form separately for each person. We’ll place you in the same Table unless you tell us otherwise.

Meaningful community doesn’t happen by accident. Sometimes we simply have to make room for it—and pull up a chair.
